FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your Questions, Answered

HOW MANY REFLEXOLOGY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

This is entirely up to you, but I will usually recommend a course of six treatments to begin with. Most client's need this many treatment to kick start their bodily systems to detoxify and eliminate waste and allowing the healing phase to start. The number of treatments required after this will vary according to the nature of your condition/state of health, your sensitivity to the treatments and any lifestyle changes that you make. Your progress is monitored throughout and it is up to you how many treatments you would like.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST SESSION?

In your first session I will run through a health and lifestyle questionnaire to learn about you and what you would like to gain from your treatment. I will use this information to adapt the treatment to your specific needs.
Your treatment will start with a gentle foot massage and then I will work all of the reflexes on the foot using a ‘thumb walking’ technique. This may find areas of imbalance or congestion and I will use gentle pressure to stimulate and rebalance these. Throughout the treatment I will play calming music to encourage complete relaxation.

At the end of the treatment I will discuss any imbalances I may have felt and discuss any recommended further treatments or lifestyle changes which maybe beneficial.

Reflexology is not diagnostic.

HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER A REFLEXOLOGY TREATMENT?

After one or two treatments your body may respond in a very definite way. Most clients feel a sense of well being and relaxation and some feel inspired and full of energy. Sometimes clients feel tired and tearful, but this is completely normal. It's the body's way of letting go of negative feelings and emotions so that healing can begin. It is very important to give this information to me after each treatment as it shows how your body is responding to the treatments. This will help me to tailor a treatment plan specific to your individual needs.
